A Summer of Cricket Across the Caribbean

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially confirmed a thrilling home schedule for the 2026 season. Fans across the Caribbean will have the opportunity to witness elite international cricket as the men’s side prepares to host Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Pakistan. The announcement, which includes a mix of white-ball fixtures and crucial World Test Championship (WTC) battles, marks a pivotal moment for the regional team.

Under the banner of the “WI OUTSIDE!” campaign, CWI aims to reignite the passion and energy that defines the cricket culture in the Caribbean. This initiative is designed to encourage fans to fill the stadiums, wave their flags, and create an atmosphere that truly celebrates the spirit of the game.

Sri Lanka’s Multi-Format Tour

The season kicks off with a comprehensive tour by Sri Lanka. The white-ball leg of the series, consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is, will be hosted at the iconic Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, from June 3 to June 14. This will be followed by a two-match Test series, which forms a vital part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle. These high-stakes encounters will take place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda, from June 25 to July 7.

New Zealand’s ODI Challenge

Following the Sri Lankan tour, the West Indies will host New Zealand for a five-match ODI series. Originally slated entirely for Guyana, the schedule was adjusted following “logistical challenges.” CWI, in collaboration with the governments of Guyana and Barbados, has finalized a split-venue arrangement. The first three ODIs are scheduled for the Guyana National Stadium, while the final two matches will shift to the historic Kensington Oval in Barbados, spanning from July 11 to July 21.

Pakistan and the World Test Championship

The season concludes with a visit from Pakistan for two Test matches, also counting toward the World Test Championship standings. The West Indies, currently seeking to climb from the bottom of the table in the 2025-27 cycle, will look to capitalize on home advantage at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy and the Queen’s Park Oval, both located in Trinidad & Tobago. The matches are set for July 25-29 and August 2-6, respectively.

The “WI OUTSIDE!” Movement

Reflecting on the announcement, CWI Chief Executive Chris Dehring emphasized that the upcoming season is about more than just the results on the field. “West Indies cricket has always been about people, passion, culture, and pride. The WI OUTSIDE! movement is an invitation to every fan to be part of the experience,” Dehring noted. By sharing the hosting responsibilities for the New Zealand series between Guyana and Barbados, CWI has demonstrated its commitment to delivering memorable cricket experiences across the region despite operational complexities.
