Shathira Jakir Jessy Named in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Officials Panel
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the list of match officials for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in England and Wales. Among the officials, Bangladeshi umpire Shathira Jakir Jessy has earned a place as the only representative from Bangladesh.
For the third consecutive Women’s T20 World Cup, the ICC has selected an all-female panel of match officials. The panel includes 14 umpires and 4 match referees, making a total of 18 officials for the tournament.
Debutants and Experienced Officials
Nine match officials from the 2024 edition have retained their spots, while four officials are set to make their Women’s T20 World Cup debut this year. The debutants are Candace La Borde, Gayathri Venugopalan, Kerrin Klaaste, and Bangladesh’s own Shathira Jakir Jessy.
Jessy had previously officiated in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup in India, but this will be her first appearance as an umpire in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Her inclusion is seen as another proud moment for Bangladesh cricket on the international stage.
Tournament Details
The 33-match tournament will begin on June 12, with the final scheduled for July 5. Bangladesh women’s national cricket team will also take part in the 12-team event after securing qualification by becoming champions in the qualifiers.
